The chord at  the beginning of the song is exactly the same fingering as an open C chord, but moved up two frets.  leave the 1st and 3rd
strings open.

So, low to high, your notes should be:  (6th string not played) D, F#, G, D, E.  here's the picking style:

This is now (as i love to call it) "part I".

Song starts with part I  4X.

Then part II, which follows:

then the chorus part (4X).  The last time around, go to 

D/A/C/G (3X)

Then a measure of A, then part II, and end on a C chord.
